The project
In the first phase of the Complexe Jules-Dallaire, we delivered several miscellaneous metals and structural steel packages: the steel stairs, the roof framing and the feature stair at the main entrance of the rotunda.
The feature stair was built in painted steel with a stainless steel and glass railing.
Technical challenges
A feature stair is a centerpiece of a building: meticulous, high-quality work is essential.
When another trade is involved — here, the glass railing installer — we share our shop drawings for coordination and adapt to the other subcontractors' products and constraints.
The stair is often fully assembled in the shop, then taken apart or cut into sections based on site conditions: access, weight and lengths that can be handled. Final assembly and adjustments are done on site by our installers.
